Missed Appointments
Due to the number of patients failing to attend for their appointment this may mean that you may not be able to see the Doctor on the day that you wish to.

In an attempt to try and resolve this, the practice has developed the following policy:

If you fail to attend for 2 consecutive appointments or 1 same day (emergency) appointment without informing us we will write to you asking if there are any specific problems preventing you from letting us know. If you fail to attend for a further appointment you may be removed from the practice list and have to find an alternative GP practice.

Emergencies

Emergency appointments are given the day they are requested but when the surgery is closed you may access the Out of Hours GP service on 111.

In cases of extreme emergency please call 999.

NHS Direct line on 0845 4647.

These services are provided out of hours by the Primary Care Centres (PCC) at the Fanshawe Centre in Halbutt Street Dagenham, and from the Queens PCC near the Queens Hospital A&E. PLEASE TELEPHONE.

You may be asked to attend the emergency clinic late in the evening or else ring the surgery in the morning and you will be given an appointment at the end of morning surgery.

Feeling unwell?  Not getting better with self-care?  If you need some help, your practice has your medical history and can give you the right treatment.

Local practices prefer to see you rather than you going to A&E, or Walk In Centres, for minor ailments and to do this we are increasing the number of urgent appointments available.

Don't forget that when the practice is not open you can be treated by an out of hours GP by ringing 111.
